| The Hurricanes competed in their first 12U tournament this weekend. And what a start to the season. The Canes won both of their Saturday games, clinched the #1 seed, and earned a first round bye in Sunday's tournament. Overall the team went 3-1 in the September Slugfest and finished in 2nd Place. Not a bad start to the 12U Season! Welcome to our new teammates. We look forward to a great year! GO HURRICANES! |

| Never underestimate the heart of a champion! The Hurricanes showed a lot of heart earning not 1, but 2 HUGE come-from-behind wins to take 3rd place in the White Bracket of the 11U World Series at Big League Dreams. A 6-2 win over the El Paso Kong started a series of battles that would see the Hurricanes win 3 of their final 4 games of the tournament. Going into the 4th inning down 10-5 against a tough Blaze team, the Canes battled back to score 6 runs in the bottom of the 4th without receiving a single out before time expired. The team didn't let a hard fought 5-6 loss to Mizuno get them down. Despite a slow start against the Lake Jackson Rebels which put them in a 7-0 hole going into the bottom of the 4th inning, the Hurricanes worked their 4th inning magic again, scoring 7 runs to tie the game! They went on to win the game 8-7 in the bottom of the 6th inning with a walk-off double. Congratulations to the Hurricanes for fighting hard through rain, boiling heat and a tough 4 days of competition to take 3rd place in the World Series!!! Great Job Guys! Never give up! |
